Chemical Composition: Co-Ni-Cr-Fe 1280
Recommended Temperature: 1280°C
How to use:
Stains can be mixed with water and applied straight onto the bisque or greenware.
Stains can be added to glazes up to about 10%. When stains are being added to glazes it is best to run the mix through a sieve prior to use, this minimizes specking of the glaze. The sieve size should be at between 120 mesh to 200 mesh.
Stains can also be mixed with Abbots Universal Medium to improve the bonding, flow characteristics and to act as a suspension agent. They should be mixed to a consistency of smooth cream. The stain can then be applied to either greenware or bisque then allowed to dry before glazing.
Info:
To a clear glaze, stain will give a bright vivid colour and to a white glaze it will give pastel shades.
